PermitPass — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-05

The short version

PermitPass has no analytics SDK and no third-party trackers. From version 1.3.0, free users may see non-personalized ads from Google AdMob (see Ads below). We do not sell or share your data with anyone.

What we collect

If you create an account, we store:

We collect this only to run your account and your purchase, and to answer you when you write to us. Nothing is used for advertising.

If your state is not in the app yet, you can ask for it. The request carries only the state's name. If you also choose to leave an email address, we use it for one thing: to send you a single email when that state is added. After that email we delete the address. It is never added to a mailing list. The state you asked for is also remembered on your phone, so the app can tell you when an update brings it.

Even without an account, the app sends a randomly generated device ID, the platform and the app version when it is first opened, so we can count installs and know which version a problem came from. That ID is not your advertising identifier and is not shared with anyone.

Every request the app makes to our server also carries your device model (for example “iPhone 16”) and your system version, so we know which phones and system versions we must keep supporting. If you are signed in, this is stored with your account’s device list so you can recognise your devices.

If something goes wrong inside the app without closing it, the app sends us a short error report: the kind of error, the place in our code where it happened, the app version, the platform and your system version. It contains no name, email, device ID or anything you typed, and it is not linked to your account. We use it only to find and fix bugs.

If the app itself crashes, Apple may share a crash log with us through its own diagnostics — only if you turned on “Share with App Developers” in your device’s Analytics & Improvements settings.

Your study progress — which questions you have seen, which you got wrong, your best exam score and the state you picked — stays on your phone. It is never sent to us.

The “Rate”, “Share” and “More apps from us” options open Apple’s App Store or your phone’s share sheet. To show our other apps, the app loads their names from our server and their icons from Apple; nothing about you is sent with these requests beyond what every request carries (see above).

Ads

From version 1.3.0, PermitPass can show ads to people using the free version. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. They are not personalized: we ask Google not to use your activity in other apps or websites to choose them, and the app does not ask for permission to track you or read your device’s advertising identifier.

To show and measure ads, Google’s ad software collects your IP address (used to estimate your general location), an identifier limited to this app, which ads you saw and whether you tapped them, and performance and crash information about the ad software. Google handles this under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We never send the ad network your answers, your progress, your account or anything you type.

There are no ads for Pro users, and never on question, exam or result screens. Practice questions, your results and every explanation stay free and are never locked behind an ad. You get two free mock exams a day; after that you can choose to watch a short ad to unlock another one (or not). If an ad can’t be shown — for example when you are offline — the exam opens anyway, and the app sends us only a short technical reason (such as “no ad available”) in the same anonymous form as the error reports described above. Every banner ad has an About this ad link, and Settings has About ads and reporting an ad, which explain how ads are chosen and let you report an ad. Earlier versions of PermitPass contain no ads.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your contacts, your location, your browsing activity, your photos, or any advertising identifier. We do not track you across other apps or websites. Apart from Google AdMob (from version 1.3.0, see Ads), the app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDK.

Where your data lives

Account and purchase data is stored on our servers. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Deleting removes your personal data; records we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes are kept without any identifying information attached. You can also write to support@hublogging.com and we will delete it for you.

Children

PermitPass is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
